Plastic Polymer

Plastic polymer is made up of high-tech materials that resemble wood shakes or slate. They don’t need much maintenance and last long. Some of the plastic polymer roofing shingles are made from recycled materials and are also recyclable when they need to be replaced. They are lightweight, can be used for steep-sloped roofs, fire and wind-resistant, and the price is moderate.

Clay Tiles

Clay tiles may be heavy and brittle but they can last longer and are very resistant to fire. They may be made from natural clay but they also consume more energy to manufacture. They are long-lasting, and require low maintenance. However, they can easily break and since they are heavy, they need strong and well-designed roof framing for support. Clay tiles are expensive.
